Japan Expected To Raise Prices By Fred Youna |

Japans manufacturers are poised for a possible 3%-6% price hike some time in the first quarter of the year 2000. The price increase will affect the manufactured goods, including Surveying Instruments and accessories.
The yen has steadily grown stronger against the dollar. In the past 7 months the yen has gained 18%. A weakness of 124.3176 yen for one dollar on May 20 to a strong 102.2997 yen for one dollar on December 22, 1999.
